Maison Agora is a holiday home that can accommodate up to 12 people and lives up to its name. The ancient Greek word ‘agora’ means 'gathering place', a place where social life takes place, where people come together and relax. It offers everything for an unforgettable holiday in the Dordogne. 

It is beautifully renovated, while preserving many of the features of the former rectory. The authentic architecture of the building, the thick walls of exposed sandstone that are characteristic of the region, the high wooden beamed ceilings, the terracotta floors and the antique grand piano breathe the atmosphere of times gone by and provide a homely and warm ambience.  

The comfortable interior of the holiday home combines traditional and modern elements. You have two cosy and spacious living rooms at your disposal. The first living room adjacent to the kitchen has a long dining table with antique cabinet full of quality glassware for wonderful dining moments,  as well as a cozy sitting area with wood burning stove.  

Through an authentic sandstone arch you enter the second living room with a cozy sitting area by the fireplace, a grand piano, a record player with a large collection of vinyl and a rustic cabinet with various board games.

The glass conservatory adjoining the living room and kitchen with panoramic views over the garden is a great place to eat breakfast on a chilly morning, or to play board games on a breezy afternoon. 

The beautiful fully equipped French traditional kitchen with modern applicances is also an area that invites you to spend time together, with a cooking island and bar stools to enjoy an apéro whilst cooking. 

The four bedrooms upstairs have airconditioning and the two bedrooms downstairs at garden-level benefit from the traditional thick walls to stay cool. All beds will already be made at your arrival and there will be bath and kitchen towels available, as well as a pool towel for each guests.  All three modern bathrooms have a walk-in shower.

Outside you can spend time in the large heated swimming pool and relax on the loungers with view over the very spacious garden and surrounding French countryside.  You can play table tennis or games with various outdoor sport items available. Or play petanque on the communal boules pitch just 50 m from the house!

The panoramic views of the French countryside are enhanced by the gracious little 12th century church next door, which is not in active use anymore, but is occasionally used upon request, for instance for marriages. It still traditionally sounds its church bell three times a day, which is special, as many church bells in small French villages do not sound their bells anymore.
